The Vice President, Dr Alhaji Bawumia has attributed the failure of Ghanaians to pay their taxes to the extreme corruption in the public service.
The second gentleman of the land speaking at the opening of the 43rd General Council Meeting of the Church said Ghanaians will voluntarily pay their taxes if they see their monies being put into good use.
“People will be willing to pay their taxes when they see that their resources are being put into good use and use for development…,” he siad.
Dr Alhaji Bawumia also commended the outgoing chairman on church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah for using the church money wisely to develop the Convention Center without any support from foreign donors.
According to him, this has shown that Ghana beyond aid could be realised.
