The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chocho Industries Limited, Alhaji Dr Mustapha Oti Boateng, has paved and handed over a 231 metre-length road inside the Koforidua Regional Hospital to authorities of the medical facility.
The road which was in a very deplorable state was reconditioned at a cost of GH¢100,000 by the celebrated manufacturer of quality herbal products.
Handing over the newly paved road to the management of the Hospital, Alhaji Dr Oti Boateng, assured that the management of the company which is committed to contributing to healthcare in the region and the country at large and the pavement of the road formed part of the company’s corporate social activities.
The man who is one of the pioneers of herbal medicine production in the country in recent times praised the staff of the hospital for demonstrating love and care to patients and being committed to their work as well.
Starting off as a small company from Ghana, Chocho Industries which is currently celebrated across the West African sub region and beyond currently produces about fifteen different herbal products which have been adjudged the Best Ghana Made cosmetic products.
The Eastern Regional Minister who was at the handing over ceremony, Mr Eric Kwakye Daffour, commended Alhaji Boateng for his humanitarian gesture and urged other corporate organisations to emulate his example.
He said with the road completed, it would be now easy to move patients from one ward to another.
Mr Daffour said the work of Alhaji Boateng was an indication of how the private sector and the government could come together to provide Ghanaians with quality healthcare.
For his part, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kwame Anim Boamah, said both patients and staff were excited and relieved that the road had been paved.
He described Alhaji Boateng as a friend of the hospital who had helped the facility in diverse ways previously and prayed that the relationship between the hospital and the businessman would grow from strength to strength.
The visionary Alhaji Dr. Mustapha Oti Boateng has won many awards including being adjudged the Overall Best Entrepreneur of the year at the 4th edition of Ghana Entrepreneur Awards in 2013.
Within the Chocho group is a licenced pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution company which manufactures range of products and distributes nationwide anti diabetes medications and analgesic.
Dr Mustapha Oti Boateng who has also been committed to the promotion of the usage of local herbs at the handing over ceremony also urged management of the hospital to continue to work hard and make the Koforidua hospital one of the best in the country.
