Akufo-Addo yet to receive anti-gay bill – MP

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central, Ebenezer Narh Nartey has revealed that President Nana Akufo-Addo is yet to receive the draft copy of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values bill popularly known as Anti-Gay bill which has been passed by Parliament.

The President has come under intense pressure to sign into law the bill preventing the promotion and practice of LGBTQ in Ghana.

The President has however vowed to await the Supreme Court’s ruling before deciding on the controversial anti-LGBTQ+ Bill recently passed by Parliament.

This assurance follows a legal challenge against the bill filed by an individual.

Commenting on this bill on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, 5th March, 2024, the former Law Maker said the President is yet to receive a draft copy of the bill.

“The President is yet to receive the draft copy of the bill…I can say that for a fact because my reliable sources at Jubilee House told me…,” he said.
