26 people living with disabilities in the Upper Manya krobo District on tuesday 1st October, 2019 received Government’s support at Sekesua as Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao, DCE for the area empowered them to be self sufficient by establishing their own businesses.

8 beneficiaries received farming Inputs ranging from (Fertilizer/Cutlasses/Weedicide/Spraying Machine among others), 7 others received cash amount of GHC 1000.00 and above for Petty trading, 8 persons received Deep freezers with Ice Chest, 1 person received cash for educational support as well as 2 persons also received various sums of money for Medical support.

Hon. Felix Nartey Odjao in his address stated that 655 people living with disabilities in his district has received various supports under this initiative of the ruling NPP government under the able leadership of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo which he commanded the President for this initiative.

In breakdown of the 655 beneficiaries, he said that under his leadership in the district, 354 persons received farming inputs, 102 persons received cash support for Petty Trading, 43 persons received Deepfreezers & Ice Chest, 21 persons received Industrial Sewing Machines, 75 Livestock rearing established, 38 persons received Medical support, 29 persons received Educational support as well as 5 persons received Shoe Making Machines.

The Hon. DCE concluded his speech by informing the gathering that the Upper Manya krobo District is as well receiving their fair share of government’s social interventions and supports under the various policy initiatives as the current 2,125 SHS Students of the Asesewa SHS are beneficiaries of the free SHS policy.

Mr. Joesph Nontey, Chairperson of the Association of PWDs in the Area expressed his heart felt appreciation to the Hon. DCE and the President of the Republic of Ghana for taking most of their members in the area from the street by assisting them to establish their own businesses to be self sufficient as he pledged his maximum support to the Hon. DCE and the ruling government to succeed.

The memorable event was Chaired by Hon. Moses Tetteh, NPP Upper Manya krobo Constituency Chairman.
