Four Nurses and midwives DIE of COVID-19; 789 test positive – Report

General Secretary of the Ghana Register Nurses and Midwives Association, Mr. David Twum Tenkorang has said there are 789 Nurses and midwives have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Ghana.

Out of the figure, four of them have lost their lives –  two male and two female.

He blamed this largely on the lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for them to work with; a situation which he said has led to the increased infection of this disease.

He said the lack of support from private individuals in the provision of the PPE accounts for the shortage as according to the government is the only institution providing them with same now.

He further claimed that there are still some frontline workers who have tested positive for the virus but still go to work.
