Just a day after confirming that South African referee Victor Gomez will be the man in the middle for the final, CAF have made a U-turn to appoint Cameroonian referee Alioum Sidi to officiate the final match between Senegal and Algeria.
As reported earlier on, Victor Gomes was named to officiate the final match between the Terenga Lions of Senegal and the Desert Foxes of Algeria but latest reports from the continental football governing body revealed a change of decision.

CAF have confirmed that Cameroon’s Alioum Sidi will take charge of the game while Evarist Menkouande and Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue and Eric Arnaud Otogo Castane will serve as his assistants.
CAF though, have not offered any explanation for the change of mind.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela will feature as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) assistant.
