Dancehall musician Stonebwoy has expressed his views on the African leaders being sworn into office by God or Allah and has instead suggested that they be sworn in by African Gods.
Stonebwoy’s comments were in respect to recent uprisings in Nigeria, which began with peaceful EndSARS protests and ended with the Nigerian Army opening fire on protesters, which President Buhari refused to address in his speech yesterday.
Tweeting his opinion, the ‘Putuu’ hitmaker suggested that it was time African leaders were sworn in by the more merciless, quick working African Gods.
He stressed that this was the logical way forward as God was too merciful on the sins of unforgivably corrupt political leaders.
He added that African leaders would work better if they swore by African Gods, saying;
“IT GOT ME THINKING THAT COME THIS ELECTIONS OUR LEADERS AND ALL WHO WILL ASSUME PUBLIC AND CIVIL OFFICES MAY HAVE TO SWEAR BY OUR AFRICAN DEITIES TOO. THESE PROMISES MUST BE FULFILLED AFRICA DESERVES A BETTER LEADERSHIP.. ELSE WHERE ARE GONNA #RUNGO”
