Participants of a research conducted by the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana have rated the President, Nana Akufo-Addo as someone with a better campaign message for voters.
According to the participants, the President has so far offered clear cut campaign messages that they believe will help them make better and informed decisions.
The UG researchers reported that 52.5% of the respondents said the campaign message of the NPP has been very concise and straight forward compared to that of the flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama.
“For those whose votes for a candidate would be based on sound campaign message, their preferred choice of presidential candidate is the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo (52.5%) followed by NDC’s John Mahama 40.9%…,” the research stated.
Interestingly, Christian Kwabena Andrew, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom will ’emerge as the third force in Ghana’s elections as 1.3% of Ghanaians believed he has a clear and concise message.
“3.7% have not decided on any of the candidates yet…”, the research said.
The research also predicted that President Akufo-Addo will win the 2020 elections will win the elections ‘one touch’.
“When respondents were stretched to indicate the presidential candidate they would vote for in the December 7 elections, 51.7% declared for Akufo-Addo, 40.4% favour John Mahama and 1.4% would vote for Christian Kwabena Andrews, and 1.4 and the undecided are 3.7%,” the research stated.
