Akufo-Addo most humble President in Ghana’s history – Odike


    The Founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr. Akwasi Adai Odike, has asserted that President Nana Akufo-Addo is the most humble President Ghana has ever had since the beginning of the Fourth Republic.

    “I have never seen such a humble President in Ghana before,” he stated.His assertion follows a meeting President Akufo-Addo and representatives of the various political parties in the country at the Flagstaff House on Thursday, January 4, 2017.

    The political parties represented by their Chairpersons and General Secretaries, were drawn from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP), Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Peoples National Convention (PNC), and the National Democratic Party (NDP).

    The rest were Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), United Peoples Party (UPP), All Peoples Congress (APC), Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), United Front Party (UFP), and the Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP).

    The meeting, which was the first between a sitting President and leaders of the political parties in recent years, lasted well over three hours, and was held in a good atmosphere, one of frank exchanges and mutual respect.

    Speaking on Oman Fm’s National Agenda programme on Friday, January 5, 2017, Akwasi Adai Odike described the atmosphere at the meeting as good and favorable, stressing that the President had personal interactions with almost all the people who were present at the meeting.

    According to him, President Akufo-Addo cracked jokes with the likes of NDC’s General Secretary Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Founder of All Progressive Peoples Party (APC) Hassan Ayariga who are known to be hard core critics of the President.

    He said the meeting focused on the celebration of 25th Anniversary of the Fourth Republic, the creation of the new districts as well as the President’s policy to ensure that MMDCEs are elected.
