“His contract with the club [AshantiGold SC] ended last month”

He has been a key performer for the Ghana Premier League giants since his arrival at the club in 2017.

McCarthy joined AshantiGold SC from Division One League side  Asokwa Deportivo prior to the start of the second round of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season.

He underwent trials at Swiss Challenge League side FC Chiasso last year but failed to secure a deal due to injury.
