Asante Kotoko cancel Koforidua pre-season exercise, considering offer to train abroad

Asante Kotoko Communications Director Moses Asante Benefo has revealed to Ghana News Page that the team is planning a pre-season tour outside the country.

The Porcupine Warriors were heading to Koforidua to begin their pre-season camping ahead of the Ghana Premier League start in November.

Coach Maxwell Konadu’s side started training last week after successfully running the mandatory COVID-19 tests for players and other key staff.

According to the Communications Director, the team has changed it plans on going for camping in Koforidua.

“Our programme for the Koforidua training camp has changed. We’ve had late options, for footballing reasons we can’t go”, Antwi Benefo told Accra based Happy FM.

“There are plans to also continue our preseason tour abroad, but it won’t be in Europe”, he added.

Kotoko are expected to train throughout this week in Kumasi as confirmed by the communications director while they work out the next line of action as regards any pre-season camping exercise.
