Asante Kotoko are inches away from securing a former Hearts of Oak poster boy according to media reports.
It is believed that Asante Kotoko head coach, Maxwell Konadu has expressed interest in Joseph Esso who has been released by Hearts of Oak few days ago.
Joseph Esso was released by Hearts of Oak alongside four other players namely Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Abubakar Traore and Bernard Arthur after failing to extend their contracts with the club.
Since his released from Hearts of Oak, Joseph Esso has reportedly attracted interest from Asante Kotoko with coach Maxwell Konadu leading the discussion.
Esso is expected to meet newly appointed Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah in the coming days as they strengthen squad for the next season’s CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, Nana Yaw Amponsah is expected to plead with Manhyia Palace to lift the transfer ban on Asante Kotoko to be able to sign free agent Joseph Esso.
Joseph Esso joined Hearts of Oak in 2017 from fellow Premiership side Ebusua Dwarfs and was the poster boy for the Accra-based side before his exit.
