AshantiGold SC striker Hans Kwofie has declared the club’s CAF Confederation Cup clash with Salitas, a must win encounter.
The Obuasi based side host their Burkinabe counterparts in the 1st leg of the Confederation Cup preliminary qualifier.
The game takes place at the Len Clay Stadium, Obuasi on Sunday November 29.
Ashgold are without a win this season after drawing their first two games of the Ghana Premier League season (drew 2-2 with both Karela United and Hearts of Oak).
Ahead of the game, Hans Kwofie who is the team’s top scorer this season has spoken of the need for his side to win the encounter.
In an interview with Kumasi based Silver 98.3 FM, Kwofie said there is no pressure on his side to win.
“There is no pressure on us to deliver. We were determined to win against Hearts but we couldn’t do that. We were a bit down but this is Africa,” Kwofie told Silver FM.
“Every player wants to prove his worth on such a platform. We will speak to ourselves as players and ensure we win this game for our supporters and the club.
”This match is a must win. Even a draw will be like a loss to us. We must go all out to get the win”.
“We must win with more goals too and also get a clean sheet. Because it’s a knockout so we must take more goals into the second leg”.
”So I will urge my colleagues to be very determined,” he concluded.
