The Member of Parliament of Ayawaso Central and Minister of State in Charge of National Security, Mr Henry Quartey, has said he would work hard, during the campaign period, for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the Ayawaso Central seat with a 10,000-vote margin.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that not only will he retain the seat for the NPP but the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will also win by the same margin in his constituency as well as the whole country to secure a second term in office.
Speaking to Class News’ Blessed Sogah on the sidelines of the ongoing vetting of NPP’s parliamentary aspirants in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, 28 February 2020, Mr Quartey said despite winning the seat on two previous occasions, he will not be complacent as December approaches.
“Even though I know I’ve 6,547 margin, I’ll not go into this election thinking that it is a done-deal. I’m going to go out there like I’ve never won an election before and I want to work hard to ensure that we appreciate our votes from 6,000 to 10,000 or more votes,” he said.
“The NPP will win in Ayawaso Central, the NPP will win in Ghana, Mr President will be President again through the humble prayer, support and care of the good people of this country,” Mr Quartey added.
