Borussia Dortmund director of football Michael Zorc has reiterated his desire to see Jadon Sancho remain at the club this summer amid interest from Manchester United.

Sancho is top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s shortlist and United’s transfer plans are set to accelerate following the end of the Premier League season.

Various reports stated that United had lodged an official bid for the 20-year-old following the win against Leicester but those claims are wide of the mark. MEN Sport understands Dortmund are attempting to arouse interest in Sancho from other clubs in order to speed up the deal with United.

Dortmund have been unwilling to budge on their £120million valuation of the England international.

Zorc insists the Bundesliga side remain hopeful he will remain at the club beyond the current transfer window.

“Jadon is an outstanding footballer with a quota that I have never seen at this age,” Zorc said at a press conference on Thursday. “I think it would even stand up to being one of the largest in the industry if you look at its age.

“I would be happy if he would still play with us this season. And that’s the current state of affairs. First of all, we have to stick to the facts – and they are such that we still have a contract with him until 2022.”
