The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome-Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region, Sara Adwoa Sarfo will appear before Parliament’s Privileges Committee on Friday, 27th May, 2022, GhanaNewsPage.Com can report.
The Law Maker who was absent from Parliament for more than 15 days during the last sitting of Parliament was summoned before it’s Privileges Committee to give reasons fro her absence.
She had been staying in the USA during this period where she periodically posted videos and photos of herself and her family on her Tik Tok handles.
Interestingly, she never made herself available in Parliament for voting on some controversial bills; an action which never pleased her party supporters and sympathisers.
She, the Greater Accra Regional Minister and Kennedy Agyepong were dragged to the Privileges Committee for absenting themselves for over fifteen sittings of the House.
According to the Speaker, the absence of the MPs without his permission constitutes a breach of the rules of the house.
This was after a former Member of Parliament for Kumbumgu Constituency, Ras Mubarak, petitioned the Speaker of Parliament to deal with the matter of absenteeism in the House.
Ken Agyapong will also appear before the Committee on Monday, 30th May, 2022.
