Information reaching GhanaNewsPage.Com is that foreigners engaged in petty trading at Suame in Kumasi have had their shops closed down by persons suspected to be members of the Ghana Union Traders Association (GUTA).
GhanaNewsPage.Com can report that shops belonging to Nigerians have been the main target of the closures.
This is the second time in some few months that Nigerian shops in the busy Kumasi market area.
Though details surrounding the reason for the closure is sketchy, GhanaNewsPage.Com has gathered that the recent closure of the Nigerian border and the banning of certain products from the Western Region is one of the main reasons for the attack on foreign traders.
Members of GUTA have also advocated that foreign traders must not be allowed to engage in petty trading in the country.
