GhanaNewsPage.com can confirm that, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked Inspector General Police (IGP), Mr David Asante-Apeatu to proceed on leave.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday, 22 July 2019 directed the Inspector General Police (IGP), Mr David Asante-Apeatu to “proceed on leave with immediate effect” pending his retirement from the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, 14 August 2019.

In a statement sighted by GhanaNewsPage.com, the president  thanked him for many years of service to the country and wished him well in his retirement.

Nana Akufo-Addo also asked the Dep IGP, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh to act as IGP until a substantive IGP is appointed in accordance with the constitution.
