The former Asante Kotoko striker is on the verge of completing his switch to the Kenyan giants, GhanaNewsPage.Com Sports can exclusively report.

Kenya Premier League heavyweights, AFC Leopards are set to announce the signing of Burkina Faso international, Songne Yacouba for their next season campaign.

GhanaNewsPage.Com Sports can exclusively reveal that the Ingwe lads have reached an agreement with the representative of the 28-year-old over his possible switch.

Yacouba has been unattached since April after rejecting contract extension talks with Asante Kotoko.

“It’s true that our outfit has been talking to the representatives of him [Songne Yacouba],” an insider of AFC Leopards told Ghananewspage.com in an exclusive interview.

“He’s a good player that any club will be glad to have in his squad. We are in advanced talks with them”

“We monitored him during the CAF Confederation Cup last season with his club. He will be a good addition to our team”

Yacouba rose to the fame to become the fans favourite during their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign where he scored two goals with five assists.

His sterling output secured the club a place in the group stages of the competition where he was chased by several clubs including Simba SC, Nkana FC, Zesco United, Al Hilal, Zamalek, Al Ahly and others.

GhanaNewsPage.Com Sports understands that Yacouba will leave the shores of Ghana to seal his switch to AFC Leopards after the ban on travels in Ghana due to the Coronavirus pandemic has been lifted by Government.
