Former Bechem United FC Head Coach Romain Folz has joined French Ligue 2 club Chamois Niortais FC as Assistant Coach for the First Team. This move comes down only few hours after the gaffer’s departure from the Bechem based club.
It is our understanding that Chamois Niortais FC have big ambition for this season, and the club is proving just that by signing the highly demanded Frenchman for the upcoming season in the European country.
Romain Folz will be set to work as Assistant Coach, with highly experienced Head Coach Sébastien Desabre being the one behind his arrival to the French club.
Desabre and Folz have already been working together in the past, in the likes of Egyptian giants Pyramids FC, and the Uganda National Team, reaching the knock-out stages of the 2019 AFCON.
It is to our knowledge that Desabre has personally demanded for Folz to join him in this new challenge, cementing, even more, the strong link that exists between the two tacticians.
According to our sources, Folz has signed a 1 year deal with Chamois Niortais FC.
We are also in a position to confirm that many top clubs (in Africa, Asia, and North America) have already made written offers to sign Romain Folz to a pre-contract deal as Head Coach/Manager for 2021 when his new and current contract will indeed expire.
Some sources have also reached out to us, claiming that Folz has actually already signed a contract with a new GPL club for next season to take over as Head Coach, but this is not confirmed as of yet (his name has been heavily linked to Accra Hearts of Oak frequently).
The gaffer has been very successful during his time in Ghana, becoming, for instance, the youngest Head Coach in the GPL history, producing a very enjoyable style of play with the Hunters, leading to very satisfying results.
The Hunters will certainly miss “The Boss”, who was considered by many as the best Head Coach in the Ghana Premier League this season.
