Chelsea fans were left raging during the FA Cup final – and not just because their team were beaten by Arsenal.

The Gunners beat Frank Lampard’s side 2-1 as they came from behind thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Though it wasn’t the result that left Blues fans fuming with Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez appearing to handle the ball outside of the box during the match.

The incident was not spotted with referee Anthony Taylor waving play on, though Chelsea fans were clearly not happy.

One wrote on social media: “Martinez handling the ball outside the box. No VAR check. Can’t believe what I’m seeing.”

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez may have handled outside of the box.

Another added: “Martinez was outside the penalty box Anthony Taylor and the FA should be investigated.”

And a third put: “In my opinion it looks like Martinez catches the ball inside the box, but is ridiculously close, and even more ridiculous VAR isn’t checking it?”

Another was in accusatory mood, writing: “You can’t deny that Martinez is collecting the ball outside of the box. Match fixing at its finest.”

“It was certainly a close call for Emiliano Martinez”.

And one bemoaned Chelsea’s luck during the match, adding: “A RED CARD, TWO HAMSTRING INJURIES, A PENALTY GIVEN AGAINST US AND NO VAR FOR MARTINEZ????????? WTF MAN.”

In a similar vein, one more put: “I guess we are out of luck today, Martinez handball outside the box, foul on Pedro not given…. Arsenal players came and did what they did..falling like a leaf and the ref bought it. Not a good final but see you next season.”
