A former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has advised his party’s 2020 Flagbearer to consider choosing a running mate who can match the intellect of the current Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to him, the NDC will do itself a lot of disservice if the party does not come up with a candidate who can always give befitting responses to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s statements.

“This is the advice I have for former President Mahama, he should consider appointing someone who can match Bawumia and give him befitting responses to his statements…,” he said on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.

The Vice President during a town hall meeting presented a tall list of achievements of the Nana Akufo-Addo administration insisting that was a basis for their re-election.

He claimed that the party has achieved 78% of their manifesto promises and invited the NDC to come forth with contrary figures to prove him wrong.

NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi, Felix Ofosu Kwakye and Albert Adongo have been part of the communicators that have attempted a reply.

But Allotey commenting on this said the performances of the named persons are not enough and hence invited the former President John Mahama to also attempt a response.

“I think John Mahama should be the best person to attempt a response, it will do him a lot of good…,” he added.

The educated fisherman as Allotey is called also entreated the NDC to stop mocking Dr Bawumia and the NPP for initiating the Town Hall meetings insisting the impact will be felt after the NDC loses the 2020 elections.
