Over the weekend, the Wenchi West District of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) of the Mid-West Ghana Conference in the Bono Region honored 20 girls for maintaining and retaining their virginity. The recognition took place during a thanksgiving service held as part of the celebration of the first Sabbath Day of the Church.

Each of the honored girls, aged between 13 and 16 years, received an undisclosed amount of money to support their upkeep. Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku, the District Coordinator of the Young Adventist Women Ministries, praised the girls for their commitment and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their decision. “God created you uniquely beautiful, and you must not allow anybody to lure and break your virginity until you marry,” she advised.
