The upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly today 1st August, 2020 disinfected various markets in the Municipality.
A total of 13 markets in the Municipality were disinfected, notable among them include the Dunkwa central Market, Zongo Market, Mfuom Market, Kyereware Market, Atechem Market, Denkyira Essikuma Market among others.
Speaking to Mohammed Radiu Dinn Rasko a freelance journalist, The upper Denkyira East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon, Isaac Awuah, Said the disinfection exercise was successful and it is a step taken by the Municipal authorities to ward off a possible outbreak of covid-19 in the Municipality.
He also advised residents in the Municipality to adhere strictly preventive measures suggested by the world health organization and the Ghana health service,so they could the spread the virus.
Meanwhile The public relations officer Charles Baah Aboagye for upper denkyira east ,said the police didn’t encounter challenges with traders and shop owners as everyone agreed to keep their shop closed for the exercise. And he thanks the municipal authorities, security agency and residents in Dunkwa for their cooperation, he said this disinfection exercise will help contain and prevent the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in the Municipality.
