The family of the late Victoria Agbotui, the mother of former President, Jerry John Rawlings has revealed that they plan to burry her soon.
Spokesperson of the bereaved family, Dan Abodakpi said this decision was borne out of a conclusion reached at a family meeting organised following the death of the woman who gave birth to the founder of the National Democratic Congress.
Briefing a delegation from the NDC headed by the flagbearer of the party, John Mahama, Mr Abodakpi mentioned that the family is considering laying the woman who lived to be 101 to rest by the third week of October 2020.
“We’ve had a caucus meeting of the family to think about the next steps. The tentative thinking is that we should not keep her in the morgue for too long, so we’re looking at second, third week in October. We’ll confirm that date as soon as possible…,” he said at the meeting which included the former President and some NDC gurus.
Addressing the gathering, former President Mahama urged the family to always keep the NDC family informed of the funeral arrangements so they can attend.
He said the party and his campaign team will make time for the funeral in spite of the campaign.
