The 1st and 2nd respondents in the ongoing Election petition case, which is the Electoral Commission and Nana Addo have filed their witness statements despite the petitioner, John Mahama’s refusal to file same.
The petitioner has instead filed for stay of proceedings praying the court to halt all sitting until the final determination of of their review application slated for 28th January.
Documents available to GhanaNewsPage.Com indicate the 2nd respondent who is President Nana Addo through his lawful Attorney, Peter Mac Manu who was the campaign manager has stated in this witness statements that the petitioner has no case.
He said that the petitioner had earlier claimed and told his supporters that they have won the elections but came to court praying the court for a rerun as he has been cheated.
Peter Mac Manu in despising his witness statements said the conduct of the petitioner and that of other leading members of NDC proclaiming outright victory with an alleged percentage of over 51% only to to the Apex court to pray for rerun is to mislead the good people of Ghana
This, he added, shows that from the onset the petitioner and his party leaders knew that they have lost the presidential elections.
He therefore prayed the court to dismiss entirely all the reliefs sought by petitioner.
