Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has come under attack after President Akufo-Addo lifted the ban on Churches and Mosques on his 14th address to the nation.

President Akufo-Addo In consultation with Church leaders lifted the ban on Churches, Mosques starting from 1st August, 2020

President said: “The restrictions on the number of congregants worshipping at a time in Church will be with the length of worship extended from one (1) to two (2) hours per service”

Minister of the other hand wrote on Twitter after the President’s address.

“For the avoidance of doubt, religious gatherings have to observe the social distancing of at least 1meter and preventive etiquette until their auditoriums are full. The cap on numbers has been lifted”

Oppong Nkrumah’s comment was met with mixed feelings. A lot of Ghanaians think he’s doing a great job whiles others also think he’s confused.

Nana Sarfo replied; “So on Sunday, if u take trotro to church, u disregard social distance in the trotro but u get to the church nd u ensure social distancing.. Is like we are cleaning ourselves with our right hand and after that we use our left hand to dirty ourselves”

Kakra Godfred Martin replied; “If the restriction on commercial vehicles have been removed, then increment in transport fares should be revised”
Agree to Disagree also replied; “We should maintain a distance of at least 1 meter in churches, but we can sit close to each other in public transports. What is the science and data backing that”

Black Jesus added that; “Churches should observe 1meter social distance but public transport users de3, make we die right? You people & your decisions nu. You’re just confused at the wheel, don’t worry December we’ll make it easier for y’all! Like the minister of health said y’all are tired of COVIDFace with tears of joy”
