The Electoral Commission (EC) has reacted to allegations that the husband of the Chairperson of the Commission, Jean Mensah, owns Persol Systems Limited, the company contracted by the EC for the construction of the new Production and Disaster Recovery Datacentre for the EC.

Reports that made rounds on social media claimed that the EC Chair has been actively defending its decision to compile a new voters register because the company awarded the contract to do so is owned by the Chairperson of the Commission.

“This is an outrageous lie since the said company has no link whatsoever to the Chairperson and her husband. We call on the general public to disregard this fabrication and treat it with the contempt it deserves,” the EC said in a statement copied to GhanaNewsPage.Com.
