The National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has revealed on Class FM as Monitored by GhanaNewsPage.com that their party is struggling even though the leader of the party, Dr Edward Mahama is serving under the Nana Addo-led administration.

He explained that, “from my submissions, it will be obvious that the party is without resources and we have struggled even to organize meetings and eventually we have decided that it appears we are fatherless and so we have to take our destiny into out own hands and we pushed forward.

“I can tell you that the meetings we have held so far has rather reinvigorated the young people to now begin to think outside the box to see what we can do to organize our party and we are doing to so…”

“I am happy that the last NEC meeting was able to grant amnesty and partial amnesty to some party members that suffered the high handedness of the party that look, come back and help us so that we can build the party and some of them have responded positively to our call. So far it appears that we should be able to go outside and mobilize resource from some people like you”

In an interview with Blessed Sogah on Accra based Class FM, Mr Bernard Mornah said Mr Edward Mahama has not joined the New Patriotic Party therefore, he’s only serving as an ambassador under the gov’t when asked whether Mr Mahama who has been with PNC since 1992 still has the chance to lead them going into 2020 election.

“Our party constitution is very clear when it says that you cannot be a member of the PNC and have a membership of another party so Edward Mahama, technically is a PNC member and he has all rights that PNC members have so he can put himself forward to contest in any election, any position including been the flagbearer going forward, that is his right and am sure even the vetting committee cannot disapprove of that but if it has to be Bernard Mornah supporting his candidature, and if it is Edward Mahama alone contesting, he needs obtain about 66% of the votes and that means we will do a YES or NO, I will campaign for NO”

He added that, Mr Edward Nasigri has failed the party and has not brought the PNC to where they wanted. He did not show a sign of leadership.

“I will campaign for NO because he has failed us, he has not inspired leadership, he has brought us to the level that we want him to, and it obvious that I cannot support his coming back as leader of the party”
