The Supreme Court has ruled that the 2020 Election petition before it should be telecast live on TV.
The court reached this agreement following a request by the petitioners asking that they want the entire proceeding telecast on national TV
The court sitting to rule on the case for the first time agreed to this arrangement.
By this, the national broadcaster, GTV, will show the proceedings live from the day of commencement to the final day when judgement will be passed.
Presidential candidate of the NDC for the 2020 elections, John Mahama is in court challenging the validity of the elections.
He has argued that none of the candidates in the keenly contested elections attained 50% plus to be declared a winner.
He therefore prayed the court to annul the declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as winner and validly elected President of Ghana.
The court has determined to rule on the case.
