Journalism has been my prior job during childhood. With all things been so good for me, I am able to achieve my aim and fulfill the promise I made to my family. I am now a renowned sports journalist working with Ghana News Page.

Asante Kotoko Ex-Board Member, Bernard Akwasi Xiel has cleared the air on the alleged missing money of Daniel Darkwah.

Darkwah joined Asante Kotoko as a free agent in 2018 with a pile of expectations following his sterling output for Aduana Stars and the Black Stars B. However, his time at the Porcupine Warriors was blighted with the footballers anathema – injuries.

On one of such long injury lay-offs, Bernard Xiel solicited for funds to support a surgical operation for the full back.

Reports suggested the defender needed GHC10,000 to undergo a surgery to correct a supposed knee injury. Xiel, a former management member of the Club called on fans to donate to support the operation of the player.

Xiel, was later accused of misappropriating the funds but the outspoken former supporters chief has denied such claims terming it as a calculated attempt to tarnish his image.

“They should tell me who sent the money. People just want to tarnish my image using Daniel Darkwah’s deal,” he told Kumasi-based Ashh FM.

He continued: “I asked the board about the case and they said there is no truth in the rumour circulating on social media,”

“The person who said I took Daniel Darkwah’s money should bring the bank account which the money was paid into or the mobile money number they sent the money on.”

He eventually had to truncate his two year deal after losing his starting berth for a move to Nigerian based outfit, Enyimba FC.
