Fire Guts Shops At Opera Square In Accra

Fire has gutted a two-storey building at Opera Square in Accra.

The inferno occurred on Monday, 25 April 2022.

It affected several shops situated in the two-storey building leading to loss of properties worth thousands of Cedis.

Owners of adjourning shops were seen trying to salvage their wares to prevent the inferno from destroying their properties if it extended.

The fire is believed to have started from the first floor of the building.

It then extended to the second floor containing air conditioners and refrigerators.

Armstrong reported that personnel of the Ghana National Fires Service had a tough time dousing the inferno.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
