The Ghana Football has reportedly lost a grand sum of USD 2.2m for cancelling the 2019/2020 Ghana Football season.
The Ghana Football Association Executive Council on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 announced after a meeting on a decision to call the season null and void.
According to various reports, the president of the Ghana Football Association has disclosed subtly that the decision made cost the association $2.2m.
In a release communicating the EXCO’s decision, the GFA added that Executive Council will again meet on July 9, 2020 to explore under avenues for next season.
“The Executive Council will meet on Thursday, July 9, 2020 to discuss all issues relating to the next football season and Congress.
“The GFA will continue its engagement with all sponsors and all stakeholders following the cancellation of the season” – GFA communicated.
