Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Cudjoe Fianoo has announced that the winner of the G6 tournament will receive Ghs20,000.
Six teams – Wa All Stars, Aduana Stars, Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Bechem United – will be competing in the second edition of the pre-season tournament.
The tournament will start on 13 November in a round-robin exercise.
Kotoko defeated Aduana Stars to win the maiden edition in Takoradi.
“The winner of the competition will receive Ghs20,000 as prize money,” Fianoo confirmed.
“We are now going to sit down to conclude discussions because you cannot promise without funds. We thought we will get enough title sponsors and we do not know how much to expect.
“We are happy the title sponsors have given us some money as appearance fee but we have to deliberate on how much we are going to take as gate fees in addition to what we are going to give the clubs.
“We will make sure we do not dilute the competitiveness of the competition so we will give the clubs the appearance fee for the two matches and if you qualify for the semifinals we will give them extra money”, Cudjoe Fianoo explained.
The runner up will receive Ghs10, 000 while third place receives Ghs5, 000 in addition to a portion of the gate proceeds.
Mr. Fianoo also confirmed Star Times will telecast all matches.
