Women’s advocate and broadcaster Gifty Anti has broken the hearts of many, particularly, feminists on social media after a photo of her kneeling down at the feet of her husband went viral.
Oheneyere Gifty Anti was before her marriage seen as one of the most vocal gender activists in the country, with many women seeing her as their role model.
And so when the 47-year-old broadcaster decided to kneel at the feet of her husband, Nana Ansah Kwao while warmly hugging his legs, many have not been enthused.
For some of the feminists on social media, her posture in the photo signifies inequality or a master-servant relationship, one of the basic things they have been fighting against.
Nevertheless, others feel that Oheneyere Gifty was perhaps just showing her love to her husband by being submissive, as the Bible puts it: “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.”
