According to Kweku Boahen, some banks which belongs to persons believed to be financiers of the NPP are rather progressing despite having less branches.
“They only have two branches but it is surprising that, those banks have been allowed to work,” he alleged.
Mr. Boahen who was speaking on Accra-based Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show also described the NPP as a wicked party.
“NPP is wicked, but God will expose them, what has Duffour and his people done for their banks to be collapsed?,” he queried.
Kweku Boahen made these comments while commenting on the consolidation of five banks by the Bank of Ghana.
On 1st August, the central bank merged five local banks which were struggling in line with the Bank of Ghana’s quest to improve standards, professionalism and strengthen Ghana’s banking sector.
In this act, the Bank of Ghana revoked the licenses of UniBank Ghana Limited, The Royal Bank Limited, Beige Bank Limited, Sovereign Bank Limited, and Construction Bank Limited and has appointed Mr. Nii Amanor Dodoo of KPMG as the Receiver for the five banks.
