GOVERNMENT TO GIVE UPDATE ON COVID 19 VACCINES- MINISTER DESIGNATE FOR INFORMATION, OPPONG NKRUMAH!
Minister Designate for Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on yesterday Thursday 18th, February, 2021, said that there will be an update on COVID 19 vaccines, today 19th and how it will be rolled out.
According to him, the presidential Task Force on COVID is working to Fight the pandemic.
Speaking before the 8th Parliament’s Appointments Committee at his vetting, the minister Designate assured the committee that work is being done the Broadcasting Bill to make it possible for media owners who want to operate websites and other social media networks to register with the National Media Commission ( NMC) just like Newspapers.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah answering questions on the operations of the Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation ( GBC) revealed that the institution was owing a sum of 25 million cedis as at the time he took over office.
He therefore suggested that the state bears some of the cost of live broadcast of state functions through the ministry of information.
The minister Designate again noted that the current system of collecting TV license fee has been abandoned, pointing out that part of the proposed Digital Access Fund would be used to replace the fee.
