The Government of Ghana has rolled out a national property address tagging project which is aimed at tagging 14 million physical properties by the end of the year.
According to the Government of Ghana, the national exercise to be carried out by NABCO recruits will tag properties using the Ghana Post to enhance revenue mobilization and contribute to the Ghana beyond aid agenda.
A total number of 12,759 NABCO personnel have been trained and ready for deployment.
The project is being funded by government through the ministry of Special Development Initiatives at the cost of 4 million that will be done in phases from data collection, Data validation then finally Authorization and approval of plate printing.
CEO for NABCO Dr Ibrahim Anyars addressing a press conference today 8th August, 2019 shared more details of the project.
“We have 12,759 of NabCO trainees currently been trained with the hand help device that has being provissioned by the Ministry for special development initiative- about 5000 devices have been procured.
What we expect MMDAs from this point in our full operation would be for every region to produce a district witness report.
Now, a district witness report is simply a report that tells us that, they have all the street names and house numbers ready through the fiscal planning department but also, the local committees have been called to action so they know what they are supposed to do and there is information that has been sent out to support that”..he said
