Chief Executive Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak Frederick Moore has indicated that departed Technical director Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto has only vacated his position on a temporary basis and could soon return to continue with work.
Pinto who was brought in as a Technical director is reported to have abandoned his position to swiftly return to his native Portugal just a week after his appointment.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that he took the decision following disagreements between himself and the club’s board of directors over the choice of an assistant coach but CEO of the club Frederick Moore insists these are malicious fabrications.
According to him Vaz Pinto is attending to family issues which include members testing positive for Covid – 19 and is still in contact with the club.
“He got here only to find out that his wife and son had tested positive for Covid – 19.
“It is not a situation that has been abandoned.
“It is not like he is gone and never coming back.
“We are in constant communication with him and we have an understanding that once the family issue is resolved if we still want him back he is ready to return,” he told Citi Sports in an interview.
