National Communication Officer of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has apologised profusely to the host of Peace FM’s flagship morning show, Kokrokoo, Kwame Sefa Kayi for ‘insulting’ him on another radio station.
Sammy Gyamfi had described Sefa Kayi as a hypocrite.
His description came on the back of a leaked tape in which the Chairman of the NDC who is also an Elder of the Church of Pentecost, Ofosu Ampofo was heard mapping out strategies to face the governing NPP “boot for boot”.
The NDC has said that the tape have been doctored and that it is not the voice of their Chairman.
“These bunch of hypocrite journalist will never play leaked tapes on their shows so far as they have negative repercussions on the NPP. However, they are quick to play leaked tapes that involve the NDC like we are seeing today,” he said on Accra-based Okay FM in March.
He has since not appeared on the Morning Show hosted by Sefa Kayi.
When he appeared on the show today, Friday, the Award-winning journalist confronted him over the statement.
Lawyer Gyamfi who could not stand by his words offered an unqualified apology to him.
