Social media – Facebook and Twitter have given vivid account on how Stonebwoy rejected Beyonce’s collaboration which has become a blessing to Ghanaian top leading controversial dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah Mensah also known as Shatta Wale.

The American songwriter teamed up with VGMA highlife song of the year winner, Shatta Wale on track 11 of the album together with Nigerian artistes including, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi and host of others.

The many messages from social media wishers have sent Shatta Wale trending across the globe.

The big news has generated a lot of conversation on how the initiative taken by Beyonce to focus on Africa especially, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa will benefit artistes on the continent.

Beyonce in her statement wrote; “This is a sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline. Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery while listening to a new contemporary interpretation”

“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me”

Reacting to this, a social media user who happens to be a die-hard fan of Shatta Wale, Flex K Germain out of joy took to Facebook to tease Sarkodie on how he paid an American rapper, Ace Hood for a feature.

The video of Sarkodie’s song with Ace Hood has about 1.6m views since 2015.

Flex wrote: “Sarkodie paid to feature Ace Hood (The video of that song is yet to make any milestone views on YouTube, 1.6m views after 4 years, really bad!)

Beyonce is going to be paying Shatta Wale for featuring him on her upcoming album which features big acts like Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino etc.

This is the dream of every artiste, a huge step, a global phenomenon status”

However, a jealous Stonebwoy fan commented, gave an account on how Beyonce inability to attend Stonebwoy’s wedding became a blessing to Shatta Wale.

According to him, Jay Z actually recommended Stonebwoy to Beyonce after listening to Stonebwoy’s track which he felt in love with and that, Beyonce had to attend Stonebwoy’s wedding but sickness couldn’t allow the American singer to.

He also revealed that, Beyonce called Nana Aba Anamoah who happens to be a local representative to set the tone for the smoking of peace pipe between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy after the VGMA brawl.

He replied, “I don’t want to give details…but just to let you know Beyonce is a close friend of Stone. Jay Z actually fell in love with Stone’s tracks and recommended to her to listen too. Since then, the two families have been very close.

“Jay Z even accepted invitation to attend Stone’s wedding but a day before he flew, Beyonce was admitted so they cancelled.

“Now, some couple of weeks ago, Beyonce sent a message to Stone about her new project but Stone was busy on continental tour so couldn’t confirm his availability. Beyonce’s management then called Shatta to make peace with Stone because they’re all Africans. Stone agreed, Shatta too.

“Then Beyonce called her local rep Nana Aba to set the tone for the smoking of peace pipe. Then Nana Aba sent pictures to Beyonce to confirm.

“It was during this meeting that Beyonce broke the good news to Shatta that now that there’s peace, he will be featured on her big project. Stone was happy. Shatta too. When the track was done, Shatta forwarded the demo to Stone to listen and peruse. It was dope.
Stone gave. In a nutshell, peace is good. So go and make peace with all your adversaries. We are all one. Ghana first. Paa Paa Paa.”
