According to Mr Ayariga, the individuals who first circulated the video seek to suggest that during his tenure as the Minister of Environment, Science Technology and Innovation under the erstwhile NDC administration, he offered the lady a licence to engage in Galamsey in exchange for sexual favours.
He said those who orchestrated and circulated the video, “only succeeded in giving us a glimpse of the crude and the unfulfilled lifes (sic) they live”.
He also stated that in accordance with his Islamic faith, he has already forgiven the architects of the video which he sees as evidence of a debased Ghana politics.

Ghana’s media front, particularly social media, has been awash with speculation that people in high places and well connected were behind recalcitrant illegal miners who have vowed to resist government’s efforts to end their destructive activities.
It also emerged that a Chinese woman, Aisha Huang, had threatened to expose government officials and political actors she had bedded and the reason why she could not be arrested.
