‘I came into politics as a missionary seeking to correct the wrongs’ – Kuffour

Former President, John Agyekum Kuffour has described himself as a missionary in Ghana politics.

“I had a mindset as a young person that I had a task to deliver so I came into government as a missionary to help Ghanaians realise that they are also God’s own creation with a lot of benefits after the colonization made us feel we are not worth it.

“There is no perfection anywhere but I came as a missionary to to help correct what I felt was not rightfully done and that was why I ruled with Checks and Balances during my governance,” he said.

The former President in an interview monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said he was fully aware of the task he needed to execute as a young man and was mentally prepared for that task before coming to do politics.

He further said he is happy at the way he went about governance during his reign.

“I don’t want to talk about the things I did but I always admire the fact that I made the citizens a part of my governance by taking into considerations their views concerning governance,” he said.
