‘I warned Bullion Van driver to stop using this route’ – Eyewitness in Korle Bu robbery case

    An eye witness of the Korle Bu–Adedenkpo Bullion Van robbery incident has revealed that he on several occassions warned the driver of the 4 X 4 vehicle used to cart cash not to be using the road in their area.

    The witness who would not mention his name in an interview on Joy News monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said he warned the bullion van driver because he felt the area is not safe.

    However, because this place is a short cut to the main road where there is traffic, the driver never listened and instead always preferred that route.

    Armed Robbers attakced an armed Policeman who was providing security for the bullion van which was carting money to an unknown bank when upon reaching the Korle Bu – Adedenkpo road was accosted by the six robbers.

    The van carrying an unknown amount of cash was trailed by some men in a taxi and on a motorbike popularly called ‘okada’.
