Elikplim Agbemava, a flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not ready to pay and will not pay the GHS420,000 demanded by the party’s NEC in nomination and filing fee.

Describing the NEC’s decision as illegal, he also lashed out at the National Executive Committee (NEC) for taken decisions without any consideration.

“This huge fee is not right. It is an illegal decision they have taken without any consideration. Even if I have it, I will not pay and will never go and file any nomination” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday.

The National Executive Committee’s decision that all male flagbearer hopefuls pay GHS400,000 as filing fee in addition to the GHS20,000 nomination forms has been greeted with wild condemnation especially from aspirants.

It follows a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on November 29, 2018, at in Accra. All aspirants have 10 days to submit the properly filled forms.

But unhappy Elikplim Agbemava says the amount is not only “outrageous” and shows how dishonest the party leadership has become but also accused the executives of taken decision to favour ex-President John Mahama.
