I’m not contesting NDC flagbearership race because I HATE Mahama – Kojo Bonsu

A flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kojo Bonsu has said that he is not seeking to lead the party into the 2020 elections because he hates former President, John Dramani Mahama.

The former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Mayor who was speaking on UTV which was monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com said his decision to contest the NDC polls is never an indication that he hates the former first gentleman of the land who appointed him to KMA.

Kojo Bonsu is among the about 12 persons who are seeking to lead the NDC party into the 2020 polls.

His decision to contest the highest position in the NDC came as a shock to many as it was believed that the man who was a loyalist of the former President was working to ensure his re-election in 2020.

But he insists he decided to contest as President because he knows he has the capability to lead the party to win back power in 2020.

“I have never stabbed Mahama at the back or betrayed him…,” he said.

The man insisted that he has greater respect for the former President but will never step down for him to contest.

“I have the greatest respect for him but this is democracy, not insults, you just have to tell us what you can do for Ghana and why you should be allowed to lead the NDC…,” he said.
