Ghana’s sole representative in the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko lost their first preliminary game against Kano Pillars in Nigeria.

The Porcupine Warriors lost by 3 goals to 2 to fellow West African side, Kano Pillars in a game which was full of drama.

The Nigerians took the lead in the first half through Adams Yussif.

After the break, Kotoko came back into the game after Justice Blay slashed home the equaliser.

The Porcupine Warriors took the lead for the first time in the 67th Minute when Godfred Asiamah slot in a perfect free kick to silence the home crowd.

But a resilient Pillars team restored parity in the 71st Minute through Ali Rabiu.

The home side then added a third one leading the Porcupine Warriors to lose the game.

The return leg will be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
