Asante Kotoko’s Ashanti Regional Circles Chairman Obeng Sekyere has advised incoming Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah to get closer to the supporters of the club in order to succeed.

The twelve-member board of Asante Kotoko will today officially unveil Nana Yaw Amponsah as the club’s new CEO following an endorsement from the life patron and club owner, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

His imminent appointment has been greeted with mixed feelings, whiles some section of the supporters have clamored for his knowledge, huge pool of network and appeal to the younger generation. Others have wasted no time in questioning his affiliation to archenemy Hearts of Oak and his supposed failures at Kumasi Cornerstones.

But supporters chief, Obeng Sekyere has shed light on how the former Phar Rangers financier can excel in the hot seat.

“I’m expecting Nana Yaw Amponsah to get closer and engage the supporters in his doings. We [Supporters] are hoping to have a good working relationship with him to help improve Kotoko,” Obeng Sekyere told Kumasi-based OTEC FM.

“Looking at the past CEO’s, you could always see a fully packed stadium whenever Kotoko had a game. The strategy was that they got closer to the supporters”, he concluded.
