Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has said that the former President, John Dramani Mahama deserves to be beaten for failing the Northern part of the country, especially his hometown.

According to the maverick politician, the former President must be given 60 strokes of cane for failing to send development to that part of the country.

“I am part of the politicians that deserve beatings…if you give me 20 lashes, Mahama must be given 60 lashes, serious lashes for failing to develop the North especially Gonjaland where he hails from…,” he said on Net 2 on Wednesday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.

The Law Maker said he want the beatings is part of the ways of protesting the underdevelopment in that part of the country.

He recounted how he nearly cried upon seeing vast arable lands going waste when he travelled to the northern sector of the country some time ago.

To him, there existed several opportunities that can be exploited to make the northern part of Ghana better and help stopped the movement of the youth to the Southern part of the country.

Ken Agyapong likened the tourism potential of the Mole National Park to some parks in South Africa and insisted it can be harnessed to generate more revenue for the country.
