A cobbler did the unthinkable when he boarded a vehicle from his hometown in Ajumako Kronam in the Central Region to Accra just to donate an amount of GHC 1.00 to the John Mahama campaign team.
The man identified as Kwame Mensah, according to the Central Regional Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a known pauper in the town and hence wondered how he managed to get lorry fare to come to Accra.
To him, the entire donation was a form of propaganda by the NDC with the hope of getting Ghanaians to believe that John Mahama is the favourite person to lead the NDC.
“Kwame Mensah from Ajumako Kromam came from that place to come and donate GHC 1.00 to the Mahama campaign, is that possible?
“Imagine the cost of boarding a vehicle from his town to Mankessim, then board another to Kaneshie before getting to Cantoments, how much will that be? Does NDC think we are all gullible to their propaganda…,? He questioned on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Turesday as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.
Some grassroot supporters of the NDC on Monday, 3 November 2018 queued at the office of former President John Dramani Mahama at Cantonments, Accra to contribute their little to fund the former president’s GHS400,000 filing fee.
This comes as MPs4Mahama, a group of 96 Minority Members of Parliament who have declared their support for Mr Mahama’s bid to run for the NDC flag bearer slot ahead of the 2020 general elections, has so far mobilised 603 pledges of GHS1,000 each towards footing the filing fees of Mr Mahama.
Ekow Ewusi however insisted that some of the supporters were mobilized to the location and given amounts of money just to donate towards the campaign.
The NDC’s presidential primary is slated for 19 January 2019.
